The Gilles Larrain Studio has been the site of many legendary celebrity fine art photography sessions. Gilles has photographed the following cultural luminaries at 95 Grand Street:
Sting, Joe Cocker, David Byrne, Karen Allen, Norman Mailer, Billy Joel and Kristy Brinkley, Jerry Hall and her sisters, Wynton Marsalis, Phoebe Cate and Jennifer Jason Leigh, painter Castillo and his wife Marienza, "Man on Wire" Phillipp Petit, famous gallerist Leo Castelli, Mikhail Barishnikov and over a hundred of dancers from American Ballet Theather for their annual catalog in 1985, Will Calhoun, Jane Seymour, Arman, Marisa Berenson.
Gilles was a close friend of Robert Mapplethorpe, Nina Hagen, Collette, and Maurice Girodias (the publisher of Nabokov's "Lolita" and "Tropic Of Cancer" by Henry Miller).
Gilles also photographed and assisted John Lennon and Yoko Ono as they cooked breakfast during their famous "Bed In".
Miles Davis visited 95 Grand Street and played at the studio many times. Their photo shoot is featured in the books "Last Miles" and "It Happened In Manhattan".
The Gypsy Kings and many other famous flamenco musicians love to visit the studio and play Gilles' guitar during photoshoots.
